Jo Patterson
PASTORAL SUPERVISOR
Jo is a fully AAOS accredited Supervisor with past studies in Pastoral Care as well as a Grad Dip. of Divinity at Sydney Missionary Bible College.
Currently located in Newcastle with her husband, Jo enjoys working in Pastoral Care part-time. Outside of work, you will often find her gardening or enjoying a coffee at her favourite cafe overlooking the beach.
With over ten years in church ministry and 8 years in Chaplaincy, she is now focusing on supporting Ministry Workers & Chaplains as they grow and develop in their ministry practice.
My Story
CHURCH MINISTRY
Originally a Physiotherapist, I embraced significant change in my life when my husband and I decided to commit to full-time Ministry in 2010.
Our journey led us to serve for over 10 years, where my focus became Pastoral Care in church while supporting my family and husband as a Senior Minister.
PASTORAL CARE
Over the past 8 years, I have been caring for people as a Chaplain at several Aged Care centres. My role allows me to walk beside people who are ageing, those with dementia, as well as grieving families. It is a huge privilege to provide Pastoral Care to people during their most vulnerable moments.
Why Supervision?
As someone who has lived the highs and lows of ministry life, I realised that there was wisdom in having an external space where I could be intentional about my growth with someone who understands. I was able to find a supervisor who I connected with and our collaboration has been such an encouragement since.
I am now passionate about guiding other people in ministry to find clarity within their unique challenges and support them to build their skills and develop more resilience during difficult circumstances.
